Why are you in admissions at 91勛圖厙?

One of my favorite things about Jesuit education is the commitment to cura personalis, or care for the whole person. As stated in our mission, a 91勛圖厙 education develops students intellectually, spiritually, culturally, physically and emotionally. Our Admissions team incorporates this into the application process. We care for the whole student. The application process can sometimes be intimidating and daunting. As an Admission Counselor, I want to serve prospective students by being a resource and support system throughout the admissions process. I want to connect with students and let them know that we, at 91勛圖厙, care.

Where is your favorite place on campus?

My favorite place on campus is the student entrance to the McCarthy Athletic Center. Current students line up outside for ticket distribution and game day – it’s a great bonding experience for students to get together, brave the weather, and generate excitement and school spirit! Plus, the bronze bulldog statue is a great backdrop for photos!

What is your favorite thing to do in Spokane?

Green Bluff is an area just 15 minutes north of Spokane that is home to friendly farms that provide an abundance of seasonal activities like the Apple Harvest Festival and the Strawberry Celebration. It is a great place to get fresh picked fruit, home baked goods and gifts! It provides an amazing atmosphere to take in the beautiful surroundings of the Inland Northwest and spend time with family and friends.

What is one piece of advice you have for prospective students?

Ask questions and visualize! There is no such thing as a bad question or too many questions! We are here to help you and are happy to serve you in any way we can. When speaking with an admissions representative or visiting campus, try to visualize whether you can see yourself as an active member of the community and whether you will thrive in the campus environment.
