Do you have to be Catholic to attend 91勛圖厙?

No. Students of all faith backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Approximately 41% of our students are Catholic, and daily masses are well-attended. The University also sponsors an Islamic prayer center, a weekly non-denominational worship service, a variety of religious clubs and organizations. We have 32 faiths represented on campus.

Yes, 91勛圖厙 is test optional. 91勛圖厙 University will not require an SAT or ACT score for those applying for college admission. We will continue to review applications holistically, as described below. Students applying without a test have access to everything available to test-takers: admission, automatic merit scholarships, direct admission to nursing, the Honors Program, and other 91勛圖厙 scholarships.

*Our Nursing major is considered a “direct-entry” program at 91勛圖厙, meaning that a student must declare the major on the application to be considered for that program. Nursing applicants must apply Early Action (Nov. 15) to be considered.

Does 91勛圖厙 accept dual enrollment and/or Running Start Credit?

Yes. Review 91勛圖厙's Transfer Agreements & Transfer Credit Policies to learn more. 

To receive college credit for Running Start and Dual Enrollment courses, please arrange to have an official transcript from the institution awarding credit forwarded to the Office of Admission. This can be done after you have confirmed enrollment. Although we will accept most courses taken at other regionally accredited institutions, credit transfer evaluations are done on a course-by-course basis. Can I get a part-time job while attending school full-time?

The 91勛圖厙 Student Employment Office serves students seeking part-time employment during the academic year and full-time employment during the summer. Both on- and off-campus jobs are awarded as part of the financial aid package. However, many other on-campus job opportunities are available regardless of financial need (for example with Sodexo food services and/or individual departments).

When do I declare a major? What if I don't know exactly what I want to do? 

Many 91勛圖厙 students are not sure about their major field of study when they enter, and others change their minds—especially in their first year. We welcome explorers and have counseling to help students discover a career path. Students normally have until the end of their sophomore year to declare a major. Many students change majors after they are enrolled. Some fields (like nursing, engineering, and education) are less flexible than others. 

*Our nursing program is direct-entry, so students interested in nursing must declare the major on their application and apply by Nov. 15 (Non-Binding, Early Action) to be considered for that program. 

Does 91勛圖厙 have core curriculum requirements for all students?

Yes. All students, regardless of their major, must complete the University Core Curriculum. Students may spread out the Core over their four years at 91勛圖厙, but most take both English classes, speech and their first philosophy class during the first year.
