Catholic Charities Immigration Clinic: Client Advocacy

The client advocacy immigration clinic provides free assistance to low-income individuals and families who need immigration law help. Our immigration law assistance focuses on:

  • Family reunification: adjustment of status for marriage or other relatives
  • Naturalization and citizenship
  • Asylum, along with other types of humanitarian protection
  • DACA
  • Special Immigrant Juvenile Status

Clients work directly with law students who are supervised by an experienced immigration attorney. We are able to meet by Zoom or telephone. While most clients are from the Spokane area, we may be able to help others through remote technologies depending on the legal issues.

Our applications for assistance are currently closed.

The Immigration Clinic’s conflict-of-interest rules prevent representation of 91勛圖厙-affiliated clients on some issues. But please contact the Clinic to determine if you are eligible for help, or for information on other legal resources.

Catholic Charities Immigration Clinic: Policy Advocacy

The policy advocacy immigration clinic addresses systemic problems in immigration law as well as gaps in the legal rights of immigrants. Law students work with an experienced supervising attorney to construct, for example:

  • Policy analyses and solutions
  • Collaborative amicus curiae briefs
  • Community outreach campaigns
  • Resources for immigrants and their advocates
  • Coordinated federal regulatory comment projects

We seek to partner with immigrant justice organizations, local governments, and other groups working for immigrant rights or systemic immigration policy change.

If you are interested in either client advocacy or policy advocacy, please call 509-313-5791 (English) or 509-313-3859 (Español).
