Certificate Overview

The program is currently admitting students on a rolling bias with three start dates a year, in fall, spring and summer.

You will chose one of three options to complete the program

  • 15-week On-Campus Course Sequence available fall or spring semester

  • 4-week Summer Language Program

Our program is designed to be in-person and all courses are held either on-campus at 91勛圖厙 University or on-site through our Study Abroad program.

Yes. You are required to spend a minimum of 20 hours working with English learners in a variety of settings, which we will arrange for you, in one-on-one, whole class, and virtual settings.

This program does not lead to teacher certification. If you are interested in becoming a K-12 teacher, please explore our Master in Teaching program to learn about certification pathways.

Teaching language is complex. Just being able to speak a language does not mean you know how to teach it effectively. The TESOL Certificate gives you the knowledge and skills you need to help students communicate.

You may also consider our M.A. TESOL program for an even more robust experience.

The TESOL Certificate is designed for students to be able to complete the minimum requirements for language schools abroad.

It is not essential, but it makes a candidate for a job abroad more competitive.
