Admission

Policy

91³Ô¹ÏÍø offers graduate programs that span across our 7 schools, and the Institute for Informatics and Applied Technology. Decisions on admission to any graduate program of the University are made by the faculty of that program after an evaluation of an applicant’s academic achievement, scholastic aptitude and other characteristics which may predict success within the graduate program. Undergraduate grades and cumulative grade point average, letters of recommendation, optional test scores, personal statements and work experience can all play an important role in the admission process. All applicants are reviewed according to these criteria without discrimination on the basis of race, age, color, creed, national or ethnic origins, marital or financial status, disability, gender or sexual orientation. 

When to Apply for Admission

Each graduate program at 91³Ô¹ÏÍø has distinct application deadlines and start terms. Please refer to specific links in the “How to Apply for Admission” table above below to view that detailed information.

All applicants seeking financial aid should also complete and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Students must complete the FAFSA annually to be eligible. This form can be accessed online  at . 91³Ô¹ÏÍø's FAFSA code is 003778. Application for International Students

International students make up a valued part of our student body and 91³Ô¹ÏÍø welcomes applications from international students and provides guidance on admissions criteria and required documentation.International applicants are encouraged to contact 91³Ô¹ÏÍø at gradadmissions@gonzaga.edu.

Non-native English-speaking students must present evidence of their ability to perform in graduate studies at 91³Ô¹ÏÍø, including proof of English proficiency. English proficiency may be shown by TOEFL or IELTS exam scores or an official recommendation from 91³Ô¹ÏÍø University’s English Language Center. Check requirements on 91³Ô¹ÏÍø’s website for the appropriate test score by graduate program.

The following applicants are not required to submit English test scores or any other additional proof of English proficiency:

Students from the following English-speaking countries are automatically exempt from any English proficiency requirement*: Australia, Botswana, Canada (except Quebec), Ghana, Ireland, Kenya, New Zealand, Nigeria, South Africa, Uganda, United Kingdom, and any English-speaking Caribbean country (Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Grenada, Jamaica, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago)

In lieu of test scores, 91³Ô¹ÏÍø University will accept verification of English language proficiency from our English Language Center.

International Transcript Evaluation: All students applying directly to a 91³Ô¹ÏÍø University graduate program must have each foreign transcript evaluated through either SpanTran or an AACRAO approved, third-party evaluator (such as World Education Services (WES) or Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE)). Canadian transcripts are exempt from this requirement.

Evidence of Financial Ability

As required by U.S. federal regulations, prospective F-1 international students must have the financial resources to live and study in the United States. This includes being able to cover the cost of tuition, books, living expenses and travel. 91³Ô¹ÏÍø’s Designated school officials (DSOs) must collect evidence of the student’s financial ability before issuing a Form I-20, “Certificate of Eligibility for Nonimmigrant Student Status.” Acceptable evidence of financial ability includes but is not limited to:

  • Family bank statements.
  • Documentation from a sponsor.
  • Financial aid letters.
  • Scholarship letters.
 

International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS): 91³Ô¹ÏÍø’s International Student & Scholar Services (ISSS) offers centralized support to visiting scholars and student visa holders at all educational levels, ISSS services include F-1 and J-1 visa advising, how to maintain immigration status, community building, cultural adaptation, and assistance with tax filing software, insurance, driver’s license and Social Security Number processes.

All international students can apply to approved programs using the “How to Apply for Admission” links. However, if they are interested in any of the programs below, students should apply through the 91³Ô¹ÏÍø Global process and take part in all 91³Ô¹ÏÍø Global services.

Non-Degree Seeking
