LDRS 601: Artificial Intelligence and Communication – 3 credits
Artificial Intelligence is the new technological frontier and will affect many aspects of our lives in ways yet to be conceived. From ChatGPT to DALE-E 2 to Replika the way we create, interact, and communicate is evolving. This course will examine the ways in which artificial intelligence is used as a tool to communicate – in business, education, and personal settings through the written, visual, and verbal uses of AI. The course will discuss how we can implement AI tools to solve various problems that face our society in areas including environmental, social, business, and health while understanding the ethical issues and concerns inherent within AI. Students will explore the design, use, and potential for AI tools through hands-on interactions.
LDRS 602: AI Explorations & Applications – 3 credits
This course provides an overview of leadership decision making and the ethical usage of and social/cultural implications in relation to AI large language models and includes a workshop on their applications featuring ChatGPT. This exploration consists of philosophical, theoretical, and practical elements approaching the phenomenon of artificial intelligence from perspectives inherent in a variety of theories of reality (ontology) and mind (epistemology). The course also includes a critical analysis of social, cultural, and historical factors undergirding learning, teaching, and the legitimization of knowledge in the age of AI.
LDRS 603: AI & Philosophical/Ethical Considerations – 3 credits
This course emphasizes the development of ethical competence and practical skills necessary for responsible Artificial Intelligence (AI) use and decision-making in their organizations and in their personal lives. AI refers to the simulation of human intelligence in machines that are programmed to approximate thinking and learning like humans. It encompasses a wide range of technologies and techniques that enable machines to perform tasks that have historically required human intelligence. These tasks include problem-solving, understanding natural language, recognizing patterns, making decisions, and adapting to new situations, and have thus real live consequences.
LDRS 604: Leading Transformation with AI – 3 credits
Capstone Project
This graduate-level course explores the dynamic intersection of ethical considerations, pragmatic applications of prompt engineering, and the integration of theory of mind principles in the realm of artificial intelligence. As organizations embark on the transformative journey with AI, there is a critical need for leaders who can navigate the ethical landscape, harness the power of prompt engineering for practical solutions, and imbue AI systems with an understanding of human cognition.
