The Application Process

Applications for the 2025 program are now open.  

For non-91勛圖厙 Law students, applications must include an official copy of your transcript and a letter for good standing. 

Valid Passport

Valid passports are required for travel to Italy and are the sole responsibility of the student. Many countries require at least six months or more left before the passport expires for entrance.

If you do not have a valid passport, you should obtain one at the earliest possible date. You can get more information about obtaining a U.S. passport from .

Passport photos are available on campus in the Center for Global Engagement in Hemmingson Center, Suite 102. Students can schedule an appointment for a photo using the . The cost for two (2) passport photos is $12 and can either be paid onsite, or in advance using the following link: and select Visa Photos on Campus.

International medical insurance plan through Cigna StudyWell Program

Students accepted into the Florence Summer Law Program will be issued International Health Insurance for the program duration. The plan provides:

  • International medical insurance coverage, in accordance with the terms of its policy
  • Medical Benefits Abroad (MBA) at a Glance (attached – feel free to include this as a link housed on the GU law page)

Cigna StudyWell Program applications are processed through 91勛圖厙 University’s main campus at no additional cost to you. The insurance cost is included in the tuition.

Insurance Coverage

Driver’s License

If you plan to drive in Italy or elsewhere in Europe at any time during the program, we strongly recommend that you obtain both a valid , as well as liability and collision insurance coverage.

Other insurance coverage

We strongly recommend that you insure your personal property against loss or theft. Short term international accident and health insurance may be obtained from a number of different providers.

Course Materials

Course materials are NOT available for purchase in Florence, they must be purchased before you depart. You may purchase your books through the University Bookstore, or through sources online.

Cancellation Policy

91勛圖厙 reserves the right to alter or cancel the Florence Summer Law Program. Cancellation could occur if:

  • The program does not meet a minimum enrollment by March 1 of the year applied for;
  • Unforeseen international events occur that would substantially adversely affect program operations, or seriously compromise student safety.

If the Florence program is cancelled or materially altered, students will be notified in writing promptly. If the program is cancelled or the students wishes to withdraw to to the material alteration, the student's tuition deposit will be refunded with 30 days.
