ABOUT OUR SPEAKERS:

Hannah Sullivan, SHRM-CP

Hannah Sullivan is an HR Advisor/Affirmative Action Specialist with Associated Industries.  Hannah graduated from 91勛圖厙 University in 2016 with a Bachelor of Business Administration, with concentrations in Human Resources and Operations & Supply Chain Management.  She worked with the GU Human Resources team for a year and a half while attending 91勛圖厙.  Hannah then joined Associated Industries in June of 2016 and now serves Associated Industries’ members and clients on HR projects, outsourced services, and provides member support. Hannah advises members and clients on numerous HR topics including affirmative action, recruitment, leave management, benefits, safety and worker’s compensation, and employee relations. Hannah is passionate about expanding her knowledge in human resources and believes in the importance of staying curious.

Hannah volunteers as the College Relations Director on the Inland Northwest SHRM Board and interacts with HR students at the many universities throughout the Inland Northwest. She has held this role on the board for 2 years.

Hannah was raised in the small town of Libby, MT. Coming from such a small town, it was a rarity and an amazing achievement to be able to attend 91勛圖厙 University.  Hannah’s time at 91勛圖厙 helped her develop great communication and writing skills, as well as how to adapt and grow as a young professional.  The professional HR relationships gained through networking events while at 91勛圖厙 were, and are still, paramount in Hannah’s connections to the HR community in the Spokane area.  Hannah received an interview with her current employer, Associated Industries, because a contact at 91勛圖厙 forwarded her resume.  Had Hannah not been referred to her current role, her HR journey would look very different.

Marissa Bryant

Marissa is a Technical Recruiter at 2Barrels in Spokane which is a small software company, where she has worked for over a year. Marissa graduated from 91勛圖厙 in 2016 with a Bachelor of Business Administration, with concentrations in marketing and human resources with a Spanish minor. She was a board member of the student SHRM chapter her senior year at 91勛圖厙 and continues to participate in local INSHRM events.

Before beginning her career in HR, she worked at a digital advertising agency in Seattle as a Media Planner. A move back to Spokane offered her the opportunity to work in HR for the first time as a Talent & Culture Specialist at etailz. In this role, she was exposed to all facets of the HR world from recruiting and planning company events, to running payroll and managing benefits.

In her current role as a Technical Recruiter, she has found her passion within HR and enjoys the opportunity to meet and talk with prospective hires every day. She has learned that understanding team dynamics and nuances is key to finding the right hires that will drive business goals.

Her time at 91勛圖厙 gave her the confidence to explore careers in different fields. Marissa did not always know that she wanted to pursue a career in HR but with the exposure to all the business introduction classes, and some really passionate professors, she realized it might be a good fit. Her advice is to not let yourself feel confined to your concentrations or initial areas of interest and enjoy the opportunities to explore and get to know yourself.
