Smoking Policy

91³Ô¹ÏÍø recognizes an obligation to provide an environment reasonably free of health hazards and contaminants that may adversely affect the safety and health of 91³Ô¹ÏÍø employees and students. In support of this obligation, 91³Ô¹ÏÍø complies with the Washington State Clean Indoor Air Act, by prohibiting smoking and the use of e-cigarettes in all 91³Ô¹ÏÍø buildings, and within 25 feet of any entrance, exit, window, or ventilation intake. This includes the use of smokeless or chewing tobacco and electronic nicotine delivery devices and related products. Supervisors are responsible for enforcing the provisions of this policy for their employees and in their work areas. Environmental Health and Safety is responsible for administering this policy. Marijuana, although now legal in Washington State, remains prohibited on university property pursuant to federal law.
