Dr. S Dawn Magee DNP, MSN, FNP-C is a practicing nurse practitioner with a focus on Family Medicine and Urgent Care. She has been a nurse practitioner for 14 years, completing her MSN FNP and Graduate Education Certificate at Washburn University in 2010, her DNP at 91勛圖厙 University in 2015, and a post-doctoral fellowship in Orthopedic Medicine at Duke University in 2019. She has been a college educator since 2007 with both clinical and didactic teaching experience. Dr. Magee’s research interests include athletic injuries, particularly in the performing arts, and obesity with a focus on intervention to promote improved quality of life and health. Her nursing background spans 35 years with extensive experience in both critical care and trauma ER prior to becoming a nurse practitioner. Dr Magee is Canadian born and married to Shawn, her physician husband. She has three grown children, all in various stages of their graduate education. Their family is rounded out with their 3 dogs: a yorkie, a doodle, and a standard poodle. Dr Magee encourages communication from students with a philosophy that "no question is too small if you are not sure of the answer"!
