91勛圖厙 Symphony Orchestra Spring Concert Featuring Kyung Sun Lee
Internationally acclaimed soloist Kyung Sun Lee will be welcomed to the stage for 91勛圖厙 Symphony Orchestra’s Spring Concert. GSO Conductor Kevin Hekmatpanah is thrilled to welcome this esteemed violinist to the Myrtle Woldson Performing Arts Center on Monday, March 4, for the annual spring concert.
The performance will begin with the orchestra performing Rossini’s Overture to La Gazza, followed by Wagner’s Overture to Rienzi and succeeded by Tchaikovsky’s masterpiece Marche Slav. The concert will conclude with Prokofiev’s Violin Concerto No. 2. featuring the renowned Lee.
Lee’s phenomenal musical abilities have been widely praised for their unique qualities. Her work has generated countless accolades, from earning a bronze medal in the 1993 Queen Elizabeth Competition to winning the Audience Favorite and Best Performance of the Commissioned Work prizes at the Montreal International Competition.
In addition to being in demand as a soloist and chamber musician, Lee is an accomplished teacher and clinician. After becoming assistant professor of violin at Oberlin Conservatory in fall 2001, she then became an associate professor at the University of Houston in fall 2006 and later a professor at Seoul National University in 2009.
