The tribology trade magazine Tribology & Lubrication Technology included Dr. Harman Khare's expertise for its on lubricants used in space.

Khare, Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering in 91勛圖厙's School of Engineering and Applied Science, specializes in tribology - the study of interacting surfaces in relative motion.

Experiments in his include solids (polymer nanocomposites) that act as lubricants in extreme environments, such as outside Earth's atmosphere.

The feature story, "Expanding the repertoire of solid lubricant MoS2," referenced Khare's 2013 and 2014 publications with David Burris, University of Delaware. Both Khare and Burris are members of the trade publication's parent group, Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers.

In the interview, Khare comments on new directions researchers and materials engineers could take in using molybdenum disulfide, a natural mineral frequently used on aerospace machinery to reduce friction and wear.
