About This Event
On the fourth anniversary of the creation of the 91勛圖厙 Institute for Climate, Water, and the Environment, the speakers will discuss the challenge of pursuing climate action in a time of intense social, political, and ecological turmoil. Drawing on their respective backgrounds and life experiences, the Institute leadership will reflect on what this moment requires of each of us and particularly of the millions of students who are graduating from high school and college at this challenging time.
About the speakers:
- Brian G. Henning, Ph.D. (he/him) is Professor of Philosophy and of Environmental Studies & Sciences at 91勛圖厙 University. Dr. Henning is the inaugural director and founder of the Climate Institute.
- Karli Honebein (she/her) is originally from Reno, Nevada and has lived in Spokane since 2014. She is a 91勛圖厙 University alumna with a B.A. in Environmental Studies and Biology. Karli serves as Climate Literacy Program Manager at the Institute.
- Dante Jester, MSc. (they/them) grew up in an apple orchard in Orondo, WA. They have a BA in Peace Studies from Whitworth University and a MSc in Climate Change and Development from the University of London. Dante serves as Climate Resilience Program Manager at the Institute.
