Dr. LaFore is so thankful to be part of the community of teacher-scholars here at 91勛圖厙. She earned her BA in Philosophy at nearby Washington State University and taught philosophy on the East Coast while earning her PhD at Boston College, where she fell in love with the incredible teaching environment of Jesuit institutions. She also spent time studying philosophy at Baylor University and Boston University.
In her research, Dr. LaFore works to help us know how we should respond to epistemic predicaments, situations in which it’s hard to know what we should believe. She often studies particular cases of epistemic predicaments in the practice of science, especially in paleontology and evolutionary biology. Most recently, she has been working on questions in epistemology about victim-centered responses to public allegations of abuse. Copies of her published papers can be accessed on her .
