Rabbi Elizabeth W. Goldstein, PhD is Associate Professor of Religious Studies at 91勛圖厙 University. She specializes in Hebrew Bible and Jewish Women’s Studies. Currently, she teaches courses on Judaism and Gender, Contemporary Israel, Hebrew language and Biblical Studies.

Rabbi Goldstein also serves as the Jewish Chaplain on campus serving the needs of Jewish students and faculty in a mid-size Jesuit, Catholic campus in Spokane, Washington, Rabbi Goldstein’s work fosters the connections between multiple communities: Jews and Christians, students and faculty, as well as 91勛圖厙 and the Jewish community. Goldstein has studied in Orthodox, Conservative, Renewal and Reform community contexts over the course of her professional life. She has served as the Chair of the Program Committee for the Ohalah (Jewish Renewal Clergy) national conference and maintains membership in both Ohalah and CCAR (Reform Rabbinic organization). Goldstein was ordained from the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in 2001 and holds a PhD in Hebrew Bible/Ancient History from the University of California at San Diego (2010). She is author of Impurity in Gender in the Hebrew Bible (Lexington, 2015) and is in the process of completing Women in the Jewish Traditions (NYU Press). Her writings can also be found in The Torah: A Woman’s Commentary and in other volumes and journals. In addition to teaching at 91勛圖厙, Goldstein also teaches for the AOP (the Aleph Ordination Program).
