I am the STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) Librarian at Foley Library. I am fascinated by how information is created and disseminated in STEM fields, and how each field is unique in its practices at the same time that they all contribute to the larger project of scientific discovery. I am excited about introducing students to these worlds, and my practice as a librarian is centered around supporting them as they learn to navigate the complex modern landscape of scientific and technical information. My instruction is informed by anti-racist, feminist, and contemplative pedagogical practices, and is in constant progress.
My research interests include but are not limited to privacy literacy in the post-Facebook age, alternative nonhierarchical mentorship models and practices, data literacy instruction for STEM students, and mental health advocacy for library workers.
In my spare time I enjoy hanging out with my dog Toast, collecting science fiction paperbacks, taking very long walks, reading and editing Wikipedia, and making playlists on Spotify.
